Hey I just started checking this out on the burningman website... kitchen info. It's an easy read. and I bet some of you might have already read it.
I know we decided on paying for our own food but we should look this over when planning out our kitchen, pantry, washing station, and water supplies.
BTW the meet-up was fantastic. And I'm glad I met everyone.
Peace.
Tomorrow at 9:30 pm at reiss' place. Be there or be a potato. Give me a call or send me an email to find out where it's at.
A humble attempt to elucidate the facts of the matter.

Hey All,
I am hereby proposing a meeting for all those cats in the BurningMilk Crew (who currently reside in NYC). I'd like to involve everyone but since some peeps are in Cali or somewhere else in this immense universe, I think the NYC branch should have a preliminary meeting and then post any and all decisions on our webiste.
I think it's wonderful that Ruth, Jeff, Yuri, Monica, and Simon got together to propose a camp design. But I also feel that the others should be able to participate in a face to face fashion. Since I haven't personally met Simon, Monica, nor Yuri I'd like to meet the people that are planing my temporary desert home. We're a community- that will hopefully become friends- therefore I feel that this meeting should happen so that everyone participates.
I personally am a bit worried, cause I don't own a tent, and these plans assume that everyone owns a tent. I do not. Therefore I feel that I need to make my voice heard and let others know my position on the camp design. Cause i don't want to buy a tent.
I guess that's it. I hope everyone is willing to have a family meeting, and I'm sure it'll be fun. Let me know if it's a yay or nay.
Peace
Claudia
Or, something along the lines of the earth sailing thing i was thinking about:
The Ship and Sail
Ruth, Jeff, Yuri, Monica, and I had a brainstorming session yesterday, and came up with a proposition for a structure for our camp. The idea is to have a structure that will provide shade, will have enough space to put the tents under, and enough space for a chilling area.
The proposition is to get a cargo parachute, stick it on a tall pole, and hoist it down with stretched ropes.
As a point of reference for those who went last year, it would be like Billy Ray's observation tower, without the observation deck, and we wouldn't have to build it so high.
If can think of a way of contacting him, and finding out more about where, and how he got it secured, that would be great. Wasn't he friends with the Beach Club? Do you think that we can ask him for help in securing the structure, or his firefighter friends who did such a fine job with his tower?
Anyway, somebody should get on that.
Check out the link with a rough sketch of the structure. Somebody with more art skills should be able to do a better job than me. Also, check out the link on temporary desert structures.

This website contains very useful information on desert structures. I think that we need to start thinking about the logistics of the event, starting with our living structure.

Ruth was interested in making a vehicle of some sort....
a bit pricy, but could easily be retro-fitted to become something else, like a bathtub, or couch or easy chair or something.
These are legal fm radio transmitters.
Also, we could have some sort of balloon or kite to mark our site, and perhaps be the antenna for radio/wifi. Allsop helli-kites: really really cool balloon/kite thingies that can carry payloads really really really high up into the air. Perhaps some aerial photography?
